The Worcester County Sheriff’s Office is warning residents about a phone scam in which the caller tells the victim there is an arrest warrant in their name and that they need to pay a fine to avoid going to jail.
The current scam doesn’t say what the warrant is issued for.The scam artist is using a Worcester County Sheriff’s Office telephone number: 508-752-1100.
Residents should be warned that when receiving a call from that number to not give out personal or financial information for any reason.
